Kulkarni joins VIPs in Tihar
After being sent for a four days judicial custody, former BJP leader and close aide of L.K. Advani, Sudheendra Kulkarni joined the league of VIP inmates in Tihar on Tuesday. 54-year-old Kulkarni, who was known for his contribution in the speeches of former Prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, was taken to the Tihar jail on Tuesday evening. Mr Kulkarni was sent for medical examination before being lodged in the jail.
“The doctors of Tihar dispensary confirmed that he has no health related problems. He is been lodged in the cell number 5 of Jail number 3,” confirmed a Tihar jail official adding that the facility of TV has been provided to him in his cell.
Incidentally, Mr Kulkarni is lodged in the same jail where Mr Amar Singh was lodged for the same cash- for-vote scam. However, Mr Singh was shifted to AIIMS and got interim bail on health grounds. Former BJP MP Faggan Singh Kulaste and Mahaveer Bhagora also lodged in the same jail for their alleged connections with the cash for vote scam. Apart from the accused of cash-for-vote scam, VIP inmates lodged for 2G scam and CWG scam are also accompanying Mr Kulkarni in jail number 3. Lalit Bhanot, V.K. Verma, T.S. Darbari and Sanjay Mahendru are accused in CWG scam, while accused of 2G scam, Vinod Goyenka, Gautam Doshi, Surender Pipara and Hari Nayar are lodged in the same jail. Jharkhand’s former CM Madhu Koda is also lodged in jail number 3.
