L-G directs police to be more vigilant
Delhi lieutenant governor Tejendra Khanna on Tuesday directed the police to be more vigilant on the safety of woman, including BPO staffers. It has been decided that woman employees should not travel alone with cab drivers at night and a security guard must invariably accompany them.
“As per the direction of the lieutenant governor, a high level meeting of the senior officer of Delhi police along with representatives of 21 BPOs based in Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida was held at Delhi police headquarters. It has been decided in the meeting that the cab driver should not pick strangers on the way. There should be effective check and control of vehicles’ movement,” a statement issued by the Raj Niwas stated.
Further, it has also been suggested to the BPOs that GPS system be installed in the cabs.
