Labourer dies in fall at work
A 24-year-old labourer accidentally fell from the sixth floor of an under-construction hotel near IGI airport area on Thursday morning and died.
According to the police, the incident occurred at around 11.30 am in Mahipalpur where the building of IBIA, a five star hotel, is being erected by a leading private building construction company. The police has registered a case of negligence against the construction company.
Police officials said that the deceased, Vijender Shah, a resident of Bihar, was working on the sixth floor when he tripped and fell down.
“A fellow worker immediately raised an alarm and informed others. The contractor made a PCR call. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead,” said a police official.

Dec. 16: The Delhi BJP is planning to stage protests against the “misgovernance” of Sheila Dikshit government, which completes 12 years in office on Friday.
State BJP president Vijender Gupta said on Wednesday that the protests will begin from Chandni Chowk at 11.30 am and will be followed in several areas.
The protests are part of the BJP’s exercise to highlight the failures of the Congress government. The BJP will corner the government on corruption in Common-wealth Games and the subsequent attempt, the pathetic condition of power and water supply, acute shortage of housing, reigning in the PDS foodgrain mafia, chaotic and dangerous public transport system, worsening law and order situation, and the indifference to the problems being faced by the common man.
