Liquor becomes costlier in city
May 11: Liquor prices in the capital have just gone up as the Delhi government effected change in rates of various brands of the Indian made foreign liquor, which will help it mop up an additional revenue of Rs 250 crores annually.
The city government has also effected change in the rates of beer, which will alone contribute Rs 150 crores. The change in the rates of Indian made foreign liquor will contribute Rs 100 crores to the state government.
The rates of various brands of whisky have gone up with Aristocrat Premium Whisky now costing Rs 230 in place of Rs 220 each bottle (750 ml). Further, Aristocrat whisky will cost Rs 190 in place of Rs 180 per bottle. The Antiquity whisky will cost Rs 570 in place of Rs 500 per bottle earlier.
Light beer will cost Rs 45 in place of the earlier Rs 40, each can of strong beer will cost Rs 50.
A bottle of Vodka Blue Moon will cost Rs 220 in place of Rs 200. Chivas Regal will cost Rs 5,600 in place of Rs 5,500 per bottle and Director Red Label whisky will cost Rs 304. The rate of Director Special Black whisky has been hiked to Rs 320 from Rs 300 and the Teachers’ Highland Cream Scotch whisky will now cost Rs 950 in place of the earlier Rs 900 per 750 ml bottle.
