Man arrested for posing as CM, V-P aide
A 26-year-old man, who allegedly cheated people by posing as a personal secretary of chief minister Sheila Dikshit, has been arrested by the southwest district police on Tuesday.
Gulshan Sharma, 26, alias Gagan Sharma, a resident of Mohan Garden in Uttam Nagar, was arrested following a complaint by one Sandeep Kumar who told the police that Gagan had promised him a job in Delhi secretariat by posing as a PS to Ms Dikshit and had taken `25,000 from him on the pretext of providing the job of a clerk. The police has recovered fake visiting cards from the accused which were used to impress people to gain their confidence.
“During questioning, Gagan, who is a Class 10 dropout and was previously involved in six criminal offences, told the police that he was big fan of Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan and was inspired by his films Rajneeti and Apaharan,” additional DCP (southwest) Parmaditya said.
“He sometimes also posed as PS to vice-president and visited Jaipur in February with Sandeep where he made a call to the CM office by posing himself as the PS to vice-president,” Mr Parmaditya said.
