Man arrested for pregnant wife’s murder

Two days after a 22-year-old pregnant woman, Neetu, was found dead in a park in west Delhi, the investigating officers have arrested her husband, Amit Chandra, in connection with the case. The accused, Amit, will be produced in a Delhi court on Friday and is likely to go in a judicial custody.

“We have arrested Amit after he broke down and confessed that he has beaten his wife who later succumbed to injuries,” said the police. Police added that Amit was questioned on the request of Neetu’s family members, who alleged that Neetu shared an estranged relationship with her husband. Neetu’s family members have also alleged that Amit used to beat her over small issues. “During sustained interrogation, Amit had stated that he had married Neetu without her family’s approval, however, her relations with Neetu were bad due to his financial conditions,” said the police. Amit had also confessed that he had no intention of killing his wife.
