Man commits suicide at Metro station
A 57-year-old man committed suicide by jumping from Paschim Vihar Metro station early on Monday.
The police said the incident was reported at around 7.30 am and the deceased has been identified as Naresh, an employee of Bharat Electronic Limited (BEL). The
victim was seen jumping from the top of Paschim Vihar (east) Metro station complex in west Delhi by a passer-by at around 7.25 am who immediately made a call to the police control room.
A PCR van arrived at the spot and the victim was rushed to Balaji Hospital where he was declared brought dead. A suicide note was recovered from the deceased’s possession in which he had stated that no one should be held responsible for his extreme step. The police said he didn’t explain the cause behind the suicide in the note. Naresh lived in Paschim Vihar along with his wife and two sons. The police is investigating the matter and are questioning the deceased’s family members and acquaintances. “Apparently, the victim was depressed over some personal issues which triggered the suicide,” a senior police official said. In March, a girl had jumped off Punjabi Bagh Metro station and ended her life.
