Man held for contracting killers to murder father
The Delhi police on Wednesday arrested a 29-year-old unemployed man for allegedly hiring contract killers to murder his father after he refused to pay his expenses. The incident happened two years ago.
Meanwhile, the police also held four persons who were allegedly paid `10 lakhs by Nitish Gupta for killing his father Jai Bhagwan Gupta, a spice trader, in January 2008. Gupta was shot dead in Model Town while he was out on a morning walk.
Besides Nitish, the police also arrested alleged contract killers Lalit Yadav, 22, Lal Bahadur, 40, Gaurav Kumar, 23, and Mohad Adil, 23. Their associate Rakesh Kumar died in a gangwar last year in Haryana’s Rohtak.
“Nitish was unemployed and was allegedly involved in illegal activities which were opposed by his family. He used to ask his father for money for his expenses. But Gupta kept a tight rein on his money supply. This enraged Nitish and he decided to get him killed,” a senior police officer said.
