Man held for duping envoy to sudan
A native of Amritsar who had purchased goods worth `2 lakhs online by fraudulently using a credit card of the Indian ambassador to Sudan was arrested, the police said on Saturday.
Acting on the complaint of Indian ambassador to Sudan, Mr A.K. Pandey, the police arrested Avtar Singh, a resident of Tej Nagar of Sultanwind Road in Amritsar, when he was receiving delivery of the consignment booked by him online, a senior Delhi police official said.
“Mr Pandey had lodged an FIR with Greater Kailash police station on November 8 that his SBI credit card had been misused by an unauthorised person who allegedly did online shopping and caused him a loss of more than `2 lakhs,” said southeast district ACP Ajay Chaudhry.
The police found a packet was booked online using the credit card in the name of one Satinder Singh, a resident of Guru Nanak Colony, Amritsar, and the same was to be delivered to him by a courier.
