Man held, fake equipment seized
The crime branch of Delhi police on Monday said that it has made one more arrest in connection with the racket of manufacturing fake medical equipments. The accused, Chandan, alias Rahul, was operating from Najafgarh area, a senior police official said. The police seized duplicate medical equipments worth `30 lakhs from the factory.
“We had arrested Gulshan Kumar who told us that Rahul was also making fake
medical equipments. We arrested Chandan and seized 540 duplicate dialysis guide wires, various machines, large quantity of semi-finished dialysis guide wires, femoral catheters and angiography guide wires. Raw material and packing material,” said the official.
The crime branch also arrested three persons, Naresh Kumar, Shailesh Kumar Dubey and Vikas Mittal, for allegedly cheating
unemployed youth on the pretext of providing them government jobs. Fake appointment letters, interview letters and joining letters of various PSUs, SBI, FCI and departments were seized from them.

Nod to 200-bed hospital in S. Delhi

NEW DELHI, JULY 29
The Delhi government on Monday gave nod for construction of a 200-bed multi-speciality hospital in Ambedkar Nagar, South Delhi, at a cost of `149 crores. The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting presided over by chief minister Sheila Dikshit. “It will be a multi-speciality hospital having internal medicine, general surgery, obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics
and orthopaedics departments,” she said. The construction will be completed within 24 months, said health minister A.K. Walia.
The Cabinet has also approved a proposal to set up a new cadre — Delhi Health Services (Dental Surgeon Cadre) — for appointment of dentists in government hospitals.
