Man held for killing 6-yr-old girl
A 25-year-old man, who allegedly kidnapped a six-year-old girl to repay his debts and later killed her, was arrested here, the police said on Tuesday. Sanjay was apprehended on Monday night from his rented house in Alipur area of northwest Delhi.
He allegedly kidnapped his former neighbour’s daughter Rakhi for ransom as he wanted to repay the loans he had taken from various people, the police said.
“He thought he will use the ransom money to repay the loans,” a senior police official said.
“Sanjay kidnapped the girl at 8.30 pm on Sunday when she was playing outside her house. He demanded Rs 3 lakhs from her father Dharambir. He killed her after a few hours as she was crying a lot,” the official said. He was earlier Dharambir’s neighbour at Krishna Nagar but shifted to Singhu village in Alipur later.
Meanwhile, a 31-year-old man was arrested for allegedly murdering his 55-year-old uncle to avenge the “evil eye” he had on his mother and to repay loans, the police said on Tuesday.
Deepak Bobal, a jeweller residing in Paschim Vihar, was apprehended from Prashant Vihar market on Monday for the murder of Surender Singh, who runs a jewellery shop on the ground floor of his Moti Nagar residence, on March 27. —PTI
