Man held at Metro station
A 44-year-old man was arrested after he was found to be in possession of a country-made revolver while trying to enter the Metro station at Tilak Nagar in west Delhi on Sunday night.
According to the police, Prabhu Singh, a resident of Etah in UP, was detained at the Tilak Nagar Metro station on Sunday night when he tried to evade checking of his belongings by the CISF personnel. The man refused to let his bag checked saying there were only clothes in it. However, when the personnel insisted that he should put his belongings through the scanner, Prabhu allegedly tried to rush through the process. He picked up his bag at the other end and tried to escape. However, the CISF personnel caught him as a weapon was detected in his bag. He was subsequently handed over to the Delhi Metro police, which comes under the Delhi railway police.
Initially, Prabhu told the police that he had come to Delhi to collect some dues from a person. However, since the man did not have the money, he offered his country-made revolver as a mortgage. Prabhu told the police that he accepted it. However, following sustained interrogation, Prabhu told the police that he used to keep the gun just to show off. The police said so far no criminal antecedents of the accused has come to light.
