Man kills 3-yr niece, absconds
A three-year-old girl died in a violent argument between her mother and uncle in Neb Sarai area of south Delhi, the police said on Friday.
The deceased girl, Babita, was admitted to AIIMS in critical state on Thursday night and succumbed to injuries on Friday morning. Investigations have revealed that the deceased’s mother, Poonam, 31, had separated from her husband a few months ago and was living with her brother Ravi in a slum in Neb Sarai.
“Ravi was suspicious about the activities of his sister. He got to know that Poonam was meeting her estranged husband Lekhraj and some men which resulted in an argument on Thursday evening. In a fit of rage, he violently threw Babita on the ground causing severe injuries in head and spinal cord,” a senior police official said.

NTPC signs MoU with power min

March 25: NTPC Ltd. and the ministry of power signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the year 2011-12 here on Friday. The MoU was signed by secretary, power, P. Umashankar, and NTPC CMD Arup Roy Choudhury in presence of senior officials.
As per the MoU, NTPC is targeting to achieve 2,35,000 million units of electricity generation under excellent category. NTPC has also committed to add capacity of 4,320 MW during the year. In addition, activities in the area of research and development, human resource development, corporate social responsibility, corporate governance and sustainable development are also part of the MoU.
