Man kills wife on anniversary

A 29-year-old woman was killed allegedly by her husband in West Delhi on their tenth wedding anniversary, the police said on Sunday.
The Delhi police on Sunday arrested a 32-year-old man, identified as Prince Kocher for allegedly killing his wife on their tenth wedding anniversary. The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Anchal. Investigating officers have said that the incident took place in the late hours on Friday.

Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner of police (west), V. Renganathan also said that the accused had tried to commit suicide twice in the past five years by consuming sleeping pills as he was upset with his wife’s “over possessiveness” and the couple would quarrel frequently.
“Anchal was forcing him to shift to a separate house . He told us during interrogation that he was unable to tolerate the pressure and taunts from his wife. So, he decided to kill her,” the DCP said.
“Last Friday, it was their marriage anniversary and the couple and their two children went to Connaught Place. After dinner, they left their children at the house of Anchal’s parents in Mahavir Enclave,” said the police. The couple returned to their home in Janakpuri.
On Saturday, their maid and son Sahil found Anchal unconscious in her bedroom. She was declared brought dead at a hospital.
After inspection of the crime scene and the body, it became clear that the killer had no other motive except to murder her, the DCP said.
“During interrogation, he confessed that he punched Anchal in face and then pressed her mouth with his hands to suffocate her. Anchal showed resistance but failed to save herself,” said the police.
During interrogation, Kocher told the police that he did not have a cordial relationship with his wife as she used to quarrel with him on petty issues.
