Man kills wife over suspicion

A labourer has been arrested by the outer Delhi police for allegedly killing his wife on Friday morning. The accused suspected that his wife was having an affair with another person.

According to the police, the murder came to light on Friday morning when they received a call about the body of a woman, with an eight-foot rod pierced in her stomach, lying in an under-construction building at H-Block in Sector-1, DSIIDC Bawana. The body was identified as that of Chanchal Devi, wife of Dhananjay, a native of Bihar, who had been working as a labourer in the industrial area a month ago.
Chanchal’s brother Dharmendra, who identified the body, told the police that her sister used to often quarrel with her husband. Dhananjay used to suspect that Chanchal was having an affair with her brother-in-law Munna, who used to stay in the premises where Chanchal’s body was found. The couple had quarrelled over the issue in Dharmendra’s presence on Thursday. The matter had been resolved then.
