Man murdered in front of wife
Unidentified assailants murdered a businessman early on Wednesday morning after holding his wife hostage at their home in Moti Nagar area of west Delhi. Virender Sachdeva, 23, lived in Moti Nagar and ran a shop nearby. According to DCP Ranganathan, on Wednesday morning at around 4 am, Virender’s wife Arti
woke up after hearing some noise in the house. She was stunned to see some masked men attacking her husband on his head. He pleaded that they can take away all the money and gold but they kept attacking him and blood was oozing out from his head. When Arti tried to intervene, the attackers tied her with a dupatta. Their three-year old daughter was sleeping in the next room.
After some time, Virender dropped dead on the bed but Arti somehow managed to crawl towards the balcony and dropped an item down to attract the attention of the neighbours. A neighbour was alerted and he quickly came upstairs.
He untied Arti and informed the police about the murder.
“Arti dropped a item, and when I looked up, she was in a very bad state. I went upstairs and untied the dupatta with which she had been tied,” Harsih, a neighbour, said. The police has registered a case and took Virender’s body to the DDU hospital for post-mortem. DCP Ranganathan also said that the entry was friendly and no door or window was forcefully opened. The police is investigating from neighbours as well as Arti whether Virendra had any enemy who could be involved.
