Man pushed to death by neighbour in Paharganj
A young man was allegedly pushed to death from his residence by a neighbour in the Paharganj area on Tuesday night over a trivial issue.
The police officials said the deceased, identified as Dhirender Choudhary, lived along with his nephew Vipin Kumar on the second-floor of a building near Ramdwara General Market in Paharganj.
“On Tuesday night, Vipin had an argument with his neighbour Suman Chhetri, 29, on the terrace of the building over a trivial issue which turned violent. Chaudhary tried to intervene but Mr Chhetri pushed him and he fell down from the building. He was taken to Lady Harding Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead,” a senior police official said.
The police sources revealed that Mr Chettri, who lives on the third-floor of the building along with his family, had allegedly urinated on Vipin’s cot on Monday night which had infuriated Vipin. “Chaudhary and Vipin had gone to enjoy cool weather on the terrace on Tuesday night when Mr Chhetri accompanied by his wife also arrived at the terrace. On seeing Mr Chhetri, Vipin walked up to him and asked him to explain his behaviour which turned into an argument. The two soon started hitting each other and at this time Chaudhary tried to intervene. However, Mr Chhetri pushed him in a fit of rage and he fell down on the first-floor,” the official said.
The police has arrested Mr Chhetri and he has been booked for allegedly murdering Chaudhary. Mr Chhetri is a native of Darjeeling in West Bengal and was working with a private company.
