Vinod, a cashier in a scrap shop, was on his way from Patparganj to his employer’s shop in Mansarovar Park in northeast Delhi on his motorcycle. He was carrying a bag containing the sales proceeds. Two armed men on a motorcycle overtook him in Patparganj area. They whipped out arms to scare Vinod into parting with the bag but, he put up resistance. The duo then fired two shots at him from close range. Vinod sustained bullet injuries on the upper parts of his body, collapsed on the ground. The biker duo then managed to escape along with the bag. Vinod was later rushed to GTB hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Preliminary investigations have indicated that either the robbers had been tipped-off by an insider or were trailing the movements of the cashier before attacking him.
