Man stabbed by friend, critical
A 24-year-old man was repeatedly stabbed by his friend for stepping over the latter’s foot. The victim, identified as Deepak, was rushed to hospital while his friend, Ravi, 23, who fled from the spot after the incident, was later arrested.
Ravi stabbed his friend when he accidentally stepped on his foot while greeting him. The incident happened in Sultanpuri on Saturday around 10.30 pm. The accused Ravi is a drug addict who has been recently released from a rehabilitation centre, the police said.
“Deepak was standing in the lane leading to his house when Ravi came to meet him. Deepak moved forward to greet Ravi and accidentally stepped on his foot. An argument broke out as they were under the influence of alcohol which later led to stabbing.”
Police officers said that the neighbours intervened and rushed Deepak to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital while Ravi fled from the spot. However, the police later arrested Ravi.

Man shot dead over enmity in Central Delhi

Jan. 16: A 28-year-old man was shot dead in central Delhi on Sunday. The police suspect that personal enmity led to the incident. Investigating officers said that the victim Dilip was a resident of Punjabi basti in Anand Parbat area.
“Dilip was shot around 2.45 am on Sunday while on his way home. The two attackers have been identified as Devendra and Chandar,” DCP (central Delhi) Vivek Kishore said.
According to investigating officers, Dilip was rushed to LNJP Hospital where he was declared brought dead. A murder case has been registered.
