Man stops train for his girlfriend
The Delhi police’s special cell on Tuesday arrested a 26-year-old man for allegedly making a hoax call about a bomb placed in one of the boogies of the Andhra Pradesh Express which was stationed at the Nizamuddin Railway Station. The call which was made on August 18 brought the railway station to halt.
On interrogation, accused Hemchandra Jha, who was working as a broker for a real estate firm for the last one month, confessed that he made the hoax call to stop his girlfriend who was boarding the AP Express to leave Delhi after a fight with him. The call created a havoc at the railway station and it took at least an hour for the railway police to bring the situation under control.
Investigating officers have stated that on August 18, Mr Jha called the local police control room and informed that he had seen four people discussing that they have placed a bomb at the AP Express. Immediately a police team with the bomb squad was rushed over to the spot and the train was evacuated. The search operation also delayed the departure time of the AP Express by two hours, said the police.
However, after finding out that the call was hoax, Mr Jha was traced through the cellphone he had used to make the call. Mr Jha had further confessed that this was the only way to stop his girlfriend from leaving Delhi, said the police.
Mr Jha will be produced in a Delhi court on Wednesday and is likely to go in a judicial custody for 14 days, confirmed the police.
