Man strangles dad in row over liquor
A 65-year-old man was allegedly strangled to death by his son in Dwarka here after he scolded him for having liquor.
A senior police official said the deceased Sunder Rajan used to work as a daily wage labourer.
“His son Sharvan was having liquor at home. When the deceased got to know, he scolded his son. Sharvan got angry over this and they had an argument. Sharvan who was in an inebriated condition strangled him to death,” said the police official. The police rushed Rajan to a nearby hospital but he was declared brought dead.
Meanwhile, the police arrested two persons in connection with the attempt to murder case of a 17-year-old girl in Ambedkar Nagar area. The police said the victim slapped a 16-year-old girl Pushpa (name changed). Pushpa incited her boyfriend and his three friends to take revenge for her insult.
“The main shooter Annu is absconding. Annu also spoke to the mother of the victim and threatened that they would teach her a lesson,” said a police official.
