MBA boy held for killing girl
A 21-year-old MBA graduate allegedly abducted and strangulated to death a young girl in northeast Delhi’s West Jyoti Nagar after demanding `25 lakhs ransom from the victim’s family. The police said the body of the deceased, identified as Neelam, 21, was recovered from a canal in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh on Monday. The accused, identified as Amit Yadav, a MBA graduate from CCS University, has been arrested in the case.
“Amit was having a relation with Neelam since the past three years. The two had met at a mall in Delhi after which they fell in love and decided to get married. However, the family members of the deceased fixed Neelam’s marriage on December 10. Amit, who could not approach Neelam’s family for marriage due to his poor financial condition hatched plan to extort money from Neelam’s family,” a senior police official said.
On November 27, Amit called Neelam and told her that they marry in a temple. However, he took her to Mussouri Datna in Ghaziabad where he strangulated her and threw her body in a canal with the help of his friend Sumit.
