Mcd opts for power-saving lights
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is all set to install energy-saving T-5 lights in all its buildings to save electricity consumption. The T-5 advanced lights needs very less power.
The officials said that these lights need only 28 watts of electricity for a 40-watt bulb. Earlier, the MCD had changed the lighting system in hospitals and replaced bulbs with CFLs.
“To ensure less consumption pre-paid electric meters are being installed in all MCD schools. These meters are recharged with coupons like mobile phones,” said an official.
