MCD principal tries to rape son’s wife
A 26-year-old lecturer of a renowned west Delhi college has alleged that her father-in-law attempted to rape her at their residence in Outer Delhi’s Kanjhawala area on Sunday night.
The police said the accused is employed as a principal at a local MCD school. The incident took place at around 10.30 pm on Sunday when the accused barged into his daughter-in-law’s first-floor room. “The victim had come out of her bathroom after taking a bath when he suddenly barged into the room, caught hold of her and forcibly tried to rape her”.
The police said the woman however freed herself from the accused’s clutches and locked herself in the bathroom from where she called the police control room. After a police team arrived at the house, the victim was taken out of the bathroom and sent for a medical examination. The accused was arrested and taken to the Kanjhawala police station. “Although he first denied the allegation, he broke down later and confessed to his crime,” the officer said.
The accused stays with his wife on the ground floor while the victim stays on first floor of their residence. “The victim, who works as a lecturer at a college in Paschim Vihar, was married to the accused’s son, in early 2008. However, soon after the marriage, he moved out of the house and started living separately, leaving her behind,” said the officer. The accused has been sent to police custody by a local court.
