Medical body holds breast cancer camp
The Asian Institute of Medical Sciences, a super-specially hospital and cancer centre, organised a free breast cancer check up camp to spread the awareness about cancer.
Special screening packages, awareness lectures by leading oncologists at AIMS and benefits of early detection, prevention rather than cure were all part of the breast cancer awareness drive at Asian Institute of Medical Sciences. Speaking on the occasion, Dr N.K. Pandey, chairman & MD, AIMS, said that one of the “most common malignancies afflicting women is breast cancer. In developing countries, such as India, breast cancer cases are rising rapidly. Despite the increase in incidence a deficit exists in awareness and knowing about this disease and about early detection examinations.”
