Medico held for stabbing his flatmates
The Delhi police has arrested a medical student for allegedly stabbing his former girlfriend and her companion at their Gautam Nagar apartment in south Delhi last Saturday.
The police said 26-year-old Shankar Thapa was arrested from Yusuf Sarai for stabbing his flatmate, Virgina Shenpin, 24, and her friend, Adreline, 23 after he was asked by the duo to vacate the flat they were sharing. The case was registered on Saturday at the Hauz Khas police station.
The police said Thapa and Shenpin had returned from China and were preparing for the Medical Council of India examination. They had a fight after which Thapa was asked to leave the apartment, which the trio shared. The flatmates argued over some pending bills.
“The two women asked him to leave the apartment. The accused left late on Friday. On Saturday morning, he returned to the house on the pretext of taking his belongings and stabbed the girls when they opened the door,” said a police officer.
