Medico stabs two women flatmates
A student of medicine allegedly stabbed his former girlfriend and her companion in the Gautam Nagar area of Hauz Khas in south Delhi after he was asked to leave the apartment that he was sharing with the two women.
26-year-old Shankar Thapa and 24-year-old Virgina Shenpin had been staying together in Gautam Nagar. Shenpin’s friend Adreline, 23, was also staying with them.
The FIR of the incident, which happened early on Saturday, has been registered at the Hauz Khas police station.
The police said Thapa and Shenpin, who had apparently returned from China and were preparing for a Medical Council of India examination, had a fight after which Thapa was asked to leave the shared accommodation.
According to the investigating officers, the three flatmates entered into an argument while returning from a coaching centre they were attending for the Medical Council of India examination.
Police officers said that the three had an argument over some due bills while returning after their classes on Friday. “The two women asked him to leave the apartment. The accused left late on Friday,” said the investigating officers, adding that he returned on Saturday morning and stabbed the two women with a kitchen knife.
“On Saturday morning, the accused returned to the house on the pretext of taking his belongings and stabbed the unsuspecting women when they opened the door,” said a senior police officer.
The two women were taken to Safdarjung Hospital where their condition was initially said to be critical.
