Mehta: Govt sent reply to CVC queries
The Delhi government on Monday said it has sent a “point-by-point reply” to all the “queries” related to the Games projects by the Central Vigilance Commission.
Rejecting the allegations of corruption and irregularities in the Games-related projects, chief secretary Rakesh Mehta said, “Panic has been created unnecessarily as the report by the CVC was a routine assessment.”
According to an assessment report prepared by CVC’s chief technical examination wing, large-scale procedural violations, including corruption, have been noticed in 16 different projects being carried out by various government departments. Meanwhile, on being asked on the delay in completing the Games projects, Mr Mehta said, “I would put the blame on the involvement of too many agencies in Games projects for the delays and there has been very little coordination between them.”
