Mercury at 18ºC, cooler clime ahead
The signs of a longer winter this season are getting clearer by the day. The minimum temperature on Sunday went below 20 degrees Celsius and settled at 18.2 degrees. While the day saw the maximum temperature cross the 30-degree mark, the nip in the air was not to be missed. The weatherman has predicted similar pattern through the week.
According to the Met department, the maximum and minimum temperatures in the capital on Sunday were recorded at 30.6º Celsius and 18.2º Celsius, respectively. The maximum and minimum temperatures on Saturday were recorded at 31.8º and 20.1º Celsius, respectively. The maximum and minimum humidity varied between 86 per cent to 26 per cent.

Man stabbed to death by two robbers
New Delhi, Oct. 24: A young man was stabbed to death allegedly by two persons during a robbery in outer Delhi, the police said.
The victim has been identified as Sanjay, 25, who runs a tea stall near his residence in Shahbad Dairy, where the incident took place on Saturday.
He was returning to his residence when two persons Ajay and Bharat allegedly accosted him and demanded cash and his mobile phone.
When Sanjay refused, the police said, one of them allegedly stabbed him and fled from the spot with his cash and mobile phone.
Sanjay was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. Both Ajay and Bharat were arrested. —PTI
