Metro to get 89 six-coach trains by ’11
The Delhi Metro will add more trains to its fleet besides converting its four-coach trains into six-coach ones. The DMRC, which has 129 trains now, will have 201 trains by 2011-end. Of the 201 train sets, 112 will have four coaches and 89 trains will have six coaches.
“DMRC has placed the order for procuring coaches in the combination of Motor car and Trailer car, which will be coupled with the four coach trains to make them six-coach trains,” the Delhi Metro spokesperson said. The extra coaches will start arriving this year-end and will be coupled with the existing train sets for conversion.
