Metro services on 2 lines to be affected today

Services on two Delhi Metro lines will be partially affected on Saturday on the occasion of the Beating Retreat ceremony that brings the curtains down on the Republic Day celebrations.

The lines — Line 2 (Jahangirpuri-HUDA City Centre) and Line 6 (Central Secretariat-Badarpur) — will be affected from 3.30 pm to 6.30 pm due to restrictions imposed by the Delhi police, a DMRC spokesman said.No Metro service will be available at Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan Metro stations. The two stations are close to Rajpath, where the Beating Retreat ceremony takes place.
However, Metro passengers can avail interchange facility between Line 2 and Line 6 at the Central Secretariat station at the Metro station.
Normal Metro train operations will be resumed after 6.30 pm. However, the services on other lines will remain unaffected. Delhi Metro services were partially affected on Wednesday too in view of the Republic Day Celebrations on Rajpath.
