Minor gangraped in Greater Noida
A 16-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by three men after being kidnapped in an Alto car in the Dadri area of Greater Noida on Wednesday evening. The accused, including a neighbour of the girl, are absconding.
According to the Noida police, the incident came to light when the girl approached the office of the superintendent of police (city), Noida, on Thursday noon and narrated her ordeal, following which an FIR was registered.
The victim, a student of Class 12, told the police that she was returning from coaching class on Wednesday evening when three persons in a Maruti Alto car abducted her in Dadri area and then took her to a desolate stretch where they took turns to rape her. The accused apparently left the victim there after she fell unconscious.
Today, when the girl regained consciousness, she found her way to the office of the SP and lodged her complaint.
The girl’s family also told the police that the main accused, who was their neighbour, had been harassing the girl for the past couple of years. He would often pass lewd comments on her and also harass her father. They also told the police that they could not muster the courage to lodge complaint as the accused would threaten them of dire consequences.
Some time ago, fed up of the constant harassment, the girl had also slapped the main accused following which he had been threatening her. There were also reports that the accused had held the family hostage before committing the crime, but the police denied the same.
A case under sections 376 (g) (gangrape), 365 (kidnapping) and other sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at Dadri police station and efforts are on to nab the absconding accused.
