Minor girl raped by cousin

A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 15-year-old cousin brother in Vijay Nagar area, police said Friday.

The girl was raped for two days on Monday and Tuesday consecutively when she was playing at her accused cousin’s house, who also lives in the same locality.

The matter came to light when the girl’s mother noticed some physical problem with her on Thursday. On being asked, the girl told the incident to her mother, after which the police was informed.

The girl’s parents have alleged that the police initially refused to lodge a case. The case was registered only after strong protest by the locals.

Based on girl’s parents complaint, the police have registered a case against the accused. The police have arrested the accused and the girl has been sent for medical examination.
