Minor raped by neighbour
A eight-year old girl was raped allegedly by a 37-year-old man, who has been arrested, in Niti Bagh area of Aman Vihar on Monday evening.
The police officials said that the accused, identified as Sudhir Kumar, who runs a tea shop in the area, lured the victim to his shop on the pretext of offering her coffee on Monday evening. “Kumar is her neighbour. Since he was known to the victim, she got into his shop at around 6 pm. The accused later downed the shutter and allegedly started misbehaving with her. When the victim resisted, Kumar raped her,” a police source said.
The accused then threatened the victim not to tell anyone about the incident. The victim, however, went to her residence and narrated the incident to her parents. The victim’s father took her to Aman Vihar police station where a complaint was lodged. The police rushed the victim to a nearby hospital where a medical examination confirmed that the victim was raped. In the meantime, a man hunt was launched for Kumar in the area. “We arrested the accused on Sunday and he was produced before a city court. Preliminary investigations have revealed that Kumar has raped the victim in past as well but the victim had preferred to stay quiet,” said a police official.

28-yr-old shot after accident

Aug. 17: In an incident of road rage, a 28-year-old man suffered firearm injuries when he was shot at allegedly by the owner of a chartered bus which hit his motorcycle in east Delhi’s Mayur Vihar area on Monday evening.
The police officials said the incident took place in New Ashok Nagar at around 10 pm on Monday. Sanjay Kumar, who runs a placement agency in Mayur Vihar Phase III, was on way to his house in Madhu Vihar area on his motorcycle when a speeding chartered bus hit him and he lost balance and fell down.
“Kumar and the bus driver entered into an argument following the accident over damages caused to his bike. The driver of the bus informed the owner about the incident, who arrived at the spot in some time. During the argument, the owner allegedly took out a revolver and opened fire at Kumar,” a police official said. The police was informed while the driver and the owner of the bus fled from the scene. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where his condition is said to be stable.
