Mother-son held for duping with fake deals
The Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing on Monday arrested a mother-son duo for allegedly duping people with fake financial deals. The accused, Kitabun Nisa, 63, and her son Anwar Azad, 36, were arrested from the Sonia Vihar area.
The investigating officers have so far stated that the duo are alleged of duping people to invest in their companies on the pretext of providing high rate of interest on the investments under various schemes run by their companies.
The duo were allegedly running two Lakshmi Nagar-based firms, Shresthapriya Finance and Investment Ltd and Popular Savinvest Ltd. “They had lured general public to invest in the schemes floated by the said companies through their agents. They offered very high rates of interest returns within three to five years against monthly investment of the investors,” said the police. However, further investigations in the case are in progress.
