No decision on CM yet, says Rajnath
Clearing the air over the party’s chief ministerial candidate ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, BJP president Rajnath Singh said on Thursday that the party has not taken any decision so far.
“The party has not closed in on any candidate for the chief minister’s post. The BJP parliamentary board has not taken any decision. It will take a decision at appropriate time,” he said.
The statement comes in the wake of reports that the BJP has decided on CM candidate as names of former minister Harsh-vardhan and Delhi BJP chief Vijay Goel have been doing the rounds. Party sources said the top brass is apprehensive about announcing any leader as chief ministerial candidate as it may lead to acrimony and may jeopardise the party’s prospects in the elections.
