No headway in Aarushi murder case after 2 yrs
The CBI had recently asked the UP police to provide pieces of crucial evidence relating to the murder of teenaged girl Aarushi Talwar — the bedsheet on which she was found dead and her room’s doormat — as it continues the probe in the case even as two years have elapsed.
Citing the importance of the bedsheet and the doormat, a senior forensic official said the bedsheet might have some seminal or blood stain or any other forensic evidence that could give a clue of the murderer.
Aarushi Talwar was found dead with her throat slit on May 16, 2008, at her home in Jalvayu Vihar, Noida. Their domestic help Hemraj, initially suspected to be the killer, was found dead on the roof-top. So far, the police and later the CBI failed to even identify the murderer.
The tale of Aarushi murder still remains an unsolved mystery. Talking to this newspaper, Dr Rajesh Talwar, the father of the deceased, whom the police suspected for an alleged role in the double murder said, “It is depressing to hear even after two years that the evidence in the case has been tampered and because of that nobody has been nailed till now. But we believe in the system and feel the truth of the matter will be unravelled one day. As of now, all we can do is wait for the day when our daughter will get justice.”
