No interview in NTSE examination
The National Council for Educational Research and Training has decided to scrap interviews for the National Talent Search Examination scholarships.
The Executive Committee of NCERT recently decided to restrict the exam only to written test.
According to an NCERT official, “There are some students who are good at writing but are not good at expressing themselves. So we decided to confine the NTSE exam to written test only”.
The committee has also decided to give away the scholarship amount in one go. The students get `500 a month till they do Ph.D. The committee had proposed that instead of Class 8, Class 10 students be made eligible for scholarship. However, the human resource development ministry has not yet approved the proposal.
