Officials’ transfer: CM to meet PC
Peeved at the Centre transferring several top officials of the city government, chief minister Sheila Dikshit will seek a revision of the decision by the home ministry on Monday.
Ms Dikshit said she will go to the home ministry, which effected the transfer on Friday night, demanding a revision of the transfer orders as allowing these officers to go from the city government will affect the important exercise of budget which is underway.
“I will go to the home ministry tomorrow,” Ms Dikshit said.
Top officials said she had sought an appointment with Union home minister P. Chidambaram to discuss the issue. They said the feeling in the government is that the chief minister should have been consulted before transferring the senior officials
Delhi Jal Board CEO Ramesh Negi, principal secretary (PWD) K.K. Sharma, transport commissioner R.K. Verma and industries commissioner Chetan Sanghi. The transfer of these officials will affect the ongoing budget-making exercise of the departments they are responsible for, they said.
These officers have been transferred as they have completed more than two years of service in the capital.
