One critical as speeding car hits 3
Three persons were injured, one of whom was serious, when they were hit by a overspeeding Chevrolet Optra at New Rajender Nagar in Central Delhi on Wednesday. The driver has been arrested.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 8 pm when the Optra car, allegedly being driven at speed, hit three persons, two of whom were on a bicycle, in the Veer Bazaar area of J-block, New Rajender Nagar. All three were rushed to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. One of them had sustained serious injuries, while the other two had sustained limb injuries, the police said.
Initially, there were reports that five persons have been injured, two of whom were in a critical state. The police said that the car was being driven at speed and they were trying to ascertain whether the driver was drunk. The driver, identified as Ashu Saini (21), a resident of east Moti Nagar, has been arrested by the Rajender Nagar police.
