Orphaned girl aims to join ips to end terror
“It isn’t easy to live a life of an orphan. I know the feeling and don’t want any other child to feel like I did. I will become an IPS officer and save the nation from terror.”
Manisha, 15, remembers exactly how 29/10 shook her life six years ago.
She was 9 then. Six years have passed since then but life is never the same after that day.
On October 29, 2005, a few days before Diwali, three blasts ripped through the national capital and killed at least 65 people. Manisha lost her mother, her brother and perhaps her father who is still listed among the missing people as his body was not recovered.
“It was difficult initially. Now I have coped up. I am not expecting the government to do anything. They never cared about what I was doing after losing my parents. If people like Kasab are not hanged, how do you think I would expect people who blew my life into pieces to be punished,” she says.
A student of Arwachin International School here, Manisha says she would serve the nation by becoming an IPS officer.
“I know how it feels to lose a loved one. To stop this forever, I will become an IPS officer. It isn’t easy to live a life of an orphan,” she says.
Manisha’s grandfather Bhagwan Das and grandmother Saleena Das take care of her.
Bhagwan Das was given `8 lakhs as compensation by the government.
It was `4 lakhs for each victim. Officially, his son has not been declared dead yet.
