Party workers vent anger over ticket denial
Senior leaders of both the Delhi Congress and BJP are facing the anger of their party workers over ticket allotment. Irked over the delay and denial of tickets, workers of both the parties were seen shouting slogans against their own leaders at the respective party offices on Sunday.
Delhi BJP leader Vijay Jolly had altercation with party workers and was reportedly manhandled.
The standing councillors who did not get the ticket this time shouted slogans against Delhi BJP chief Vijender Gupta and senior leader Vijay Jolly. Vijay Jolly had some fierce altercation with the protesters later which resulted in a brawl.
“When Mr Jolly arrived at the residence of senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu, some of the disappointed party workers started shouting slogans against him and when he retaliated some of them manhandled him. However the security personnel took the situation under control immediately,” said a BJP office-bearer.
Similarly, some of the disappointed party workers gathered at the Delhi Congress office and shouted slogans against Congress MP from West Delhi, Mahabal Mishra.
Some of the party workers who did not get ticket alleged that some senior party leaders are demanding money to grant ticket.
