Pilot held for human trafficking
A young pilot, who was declared a proclaimed offender, along with his two relatives, has been arrested by the special cell of the Delhi police on Wednesday on the charges of human trafficking.
The police has invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act against Vipin Sharma, 34, who holds a commercial pilot licence and his brother Sachin Sharma, 30, and brother-in-law Aman Alam, 26. The police claimed to have recovered 63 passports, a fake visa and Rs 7,94,200 cash from their 11 bank accounts and a car.
The police said Vipin, who started his career as a real estate agent in Defence Colony, met one Rubby, a resident of Patiala who is currently settled in USA, and started working as an immigration agent. “Vipin is wanted in more than 20 criminal cases and used to sent people abroad using fraudulent means,” a police official said. “Vipin use to illegally send his clients to USA through his networks in Jamaica and Havana,” he said.
