Prez nod to Sopory for JNU V-C

S.K. Sopory, a senior scientist in the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) will be the next vice-chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University.

According to officials in the HRD ministry, his name has received the President’s approval. A search committee headed by Mr K. Kasturirangan had shortlisted his name along with three others. The new vice-chancellor will replace Prof. B.B. Bhattacharya whose term got over in June this year. —PTI
