Production warrants against 3 accused
A Delhi court on Friday issued production warrants against the three accused allegedly involved in the sensational honour killings of their relatives last week. Seeking custodial interrogation, the Delhi police has pleaded before the court to issue production warrant against the trio, Mandeep Nagar (23), Ankit Chaudhury (22) and Nakul
Khari (21), who were arrested on Thursday by the Uttar Pradesh police from Garhmukteshwar, about 90 km from the national capital. Metropolitan magistrate (MM) Satish Kumar, after hearing the plea of the Delhi police, directed Dasna jail authorities at Ghaziabad to produce the accused before the court here on Saturday.
Meanwhile, junior civil judge of a local court in Ghaziabad, Nupur, on Friday remanded the three accused to 14 days' judicial custody. The UP police claimed to have recovered a country-made pistol and a car in which the accused were travelling for the last five days. The trio were on the run after allegedly killing Ankit's sister Monica, 24, along with her husband Kuldeep, 26, for marrying into a different caste, and Mandeep's 22-year-old sister Shobha, who too had eloped with a man belonging to a different caste. The three allegedly carried out the murders on June 20 at Ashok Vihar in northwest Delhi as they were said to be angry with their relatives for defiling the honour of their family for marrying against their wishes in different castes. All the victims and the accused belong to the same family, except Nakul, who is Mandeep's friend.
