A property dealer’s wife and his six-year-old son were stabbed to death at their residence in west Delhi’s Patel Nagar area on Thursday night.
The police said the incident was reported from J block of west Patel Nagar at around 3 am on Friday. The deceased, identified as Anuradha, 40, and Cherish, were found lying in a pool of blood by her husband Pawan Nangia, 36, when he returned home from an office party.

The police said Nangia, a property dealer, immediately made a PCR call and the two were taken to a nearby hospital where they were declared brought dead. The police has registered a case of murder but no arrests have been made so far.
Sources said Nangia found Anuradha lying dead in the kitchen while Cherish was lying face-down in the adjacent storeroom. “Anuradha’s throat had been slit and she was stabbed multiple times in the chest and her back. Cherish has been apparently strangled with a wire before being stabbed in the chest and back,” a police source said. The police is suspecting it to be a case of personal rivalry as the cash and valuables, including the jewellery at the house, has been found intact.
“The assailants were known to the deceased. Two glasses containing water were found on the table, suggesting that the accused were offered water. The main door of the house was open when Nangia returned suggesting that the assailants had gained friendly entry into the residence,” said the officer.
The neighbours of the family expressed shock and anger at the incident, “I was coming back from my mother’s house when I saw her buying vegetables from the local vendor around 7.30 pm yesterday. I can’t believe she is no more,” said Sudha Singhania, one of the Nangia’s neighbours.
Suresh Dua, 40, another neighbour, said that one of Nangia’s rivals might be involved in the crime. “Pawan used to give money on interest. One of his creditors was having a dispute with him because the rate of interest was a bit high and the two had an altercation a few days ago,” he said.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
