Rail ticket scam: tout, 2 agents in 14-day custody

A tout and two travels agents, accused to be involved in a racket of railway ticket reservation by issuing confirmed tickets on forged names and addresses to customers, were on Wednesday sent to 14 days judicial custody by a city court.

The trio allegedly got seats reserved in bulk by using fake names, addresses and I.D.s on all busy routes and charged customers six times the cost for the confirmed tickets.
Additional chief metropolitan magistrate Manish Yaduvanshi sent the tout Deenu Kumar and travel agents Vijay Majumdar and Vjiay Kumar to 14 days judicial custody.
“The investigation is in progress. Hence all accused persons be sent to 14 days judicial custody remand,” said the judge.
According to the police, “The passengers would be briefed that prior to boarding the train, they check the charts affixed on the coach to find out the name of the person having reservation.”
The accused were arrested after the police got a tip-off about some persons running a railway ticket-racket at Paharganj.
