Rain havoc: Tree falls on DCP’s car

Patel Nagar, Pitampura and Shalimar Bagh were among the areas worst affected. There were also three cases of building collapse in NDMC, with a part of the roof of Fun Cinemas in Moti Nagar coming down. Report of fallen trees was received from seven locations, namely Daryaganj police station, where a tree fell on the DCP’s car.

Woman killed in Noida road mishap
Noida: A 38-year-old woman was killed on Saturday and her
teenage daughter injured when a bus hit them in Baraula village here, prompting locals to block the road for a few hours, the police said. Sonam died on the spot, while her 15-year-old daughter sustained
injuries when the bus collided with a canter and the driver lost control, hitting the two pedestrians, the police said. Irate locals blocked the Noida-Dadri road and police was forced to divert traffic to other routes. Later, on assurance by senior police officers, the road block was lifted.

Khurana stable, to be discharged soon
New Delhi: Former Delhi chief minister Madan Lal Khurana, who was admitted to the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital here early on Thursday following brain haemorrhage, is stable and may be discharged from the hospital in a week or two, said doctors treating upon him said on Saturday.
Dr Rajesh Acharya, senior consultant of neurosurgery at SGRH, said that Khurana is showing signs of gradual improvement. “The ventilatory support on Khuran has been reduced. Also, he has started to movement of all his limbs.” Acharya further said that the blood pressure of 77-year-old Khurana is stable now. Also, bleeding in the head has been controlled, the doctor added.
