Realtor nabbed for rape attempt
Two businessmen who deal in real estate allegedly tried to rape a 28-year-old businesswoman after calling her to their office in Uttam Nagar area of west Delhi on the pretext of discussing a deal.
The police arrested one accused while the other is absconding. An official said that the police has arrested Yogesh Gupta while his accomplice Monu is absconding.
A police source close to the investigation said that the duo held the victim hostage in their office and attempted to rape her. The woman somehow escaped from their clutches and called the police.
“The victim told us that she runs a business organisation. She said she also deals in real estate and the accused called her to settle an old score. She said when she reached their office they misbehaved with her and when she resisted they tried to rape her. She was taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital and a case was lodged,” said the police official.
The police has filed an FIR under Sections 376/511/342/506/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) following the allegations made by the victim, the official further said.
The police conducted raid arrested Yogesh while Monu managed to give the police a slip.
Yogesh was produced in the Tis Hazari Court and was remanded into 14 days judicial custody. The police is conducting raids to nab Monu.

2 boys killed in wall collapse

Two boys were crushed to death while several others were injured after a wall collapsed on them in Prem Nagar area of Outer Delhi on Saturday night. A senior police official said that the deceased were identified as Mohammed Noor, 6, and Adil, 7.
“The incident took place in an empty plot which has just boundary walls. Children used to come to play inside the plot. On Saturday evening, children were playing when the wall collapsed. The children were trapped in the debris. They were taken out and rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital where Adil and Noor were declared brought dead,” said the police official.
Meanwhile, locals staged a protest outside the hospital demanding action against the plot owner. The family members of the deceased alleged that the doctors did not treat the patients carefully. The police has lodged an FIR of death due to negligence against unknown persons.
