Realtor shot dead, rescuer records statement on cell
A 40-year-old property dealer was shot dead by two bikers at Rani Bagh on Sunday night. The deceased, Sahil Khatri, 42 was returning to his A-block, Sector-4, Rohini residence from Gurdwara Bangla Sahib when two bikers intercepted him near Sharda Niketan and shot him. Khatri was hit in his chest and fell off his bike. The assailants escaped with his motorcycle.
A businessman, Kulbhu-shan Mehta, who was passing by in a Santro car with his son Tushar, heard the gunshots and rushed to the spot,
He found Khatri in a pool of blood and informed the police.
While the police allegedly took time to arrive, Tushar took out his mobile phone and recorded the statement of Khatri in which he reportedly accused his business partner Manish Yadav and his aide Rishi for shooting at him.
“In the recording, Khatri has claimed that Yadav and Rishi fired on him since he had a business dispute with them. They had reportedly threatened to kill him recently,” said a police official. Khatri was taken to Mahavir Hospital from where he was shifted to Sushruta Trauma Centre. “He succumbed to injuries on Monday afternoon,” a doctors said.
Investigations revealed that Khatri was running a property business in partnership with Manish from a shop in Madipur. Yadav, who owned the shop, had asked Khatri to vacate the shop as he wanted to sell it. “The issue had become a bone of contention between the two. A case of murder has been registered,” the official said.
